The Natural History Museum is located on the University of Kansas campus in Dyche Hall, a few blocks from downtown Lawrence. Lawrence is located about 20 miles east of Topeka and about 30 miles west of the Kansas City area. You can reach Lawrence via I-70 or K-10.

Directions are to the nearest public parking lot located in the Mississippi Street Parking Garage, north of the Kansas Union. There also is convenient 10-minute "drop-off" parking in front of the museum.

Parking

The Mississippi Street Parking Garage offers the closest and most convenient parking for most vehicles. The garage costs $1.50 per hour. The garage provides stalls for vehicles with state-issued handicap license plates or placards.

School buses may use the unloading area in front of the museum and then park near Memorial Stadium at 11th and Mississippi streets or at the Lied Center on West Campus. RVs and commercial buses are encouraged to contact the KU Parking & Transit Department at 785.864.7275 for more information about parking.
