Science Saturday: Earth Science Week

Celebrate Earth Science Week 2014 with three events hosted by KU. Start Oct. 11 at the KU Natural History Museum for Science Saturday: Journey to Planet Earth, 1-3 pm. Well have hands-on activities about soil, water, geology and more. On Oct. 16, the museum will offer an Earth Science film in the Panorama. Then on Oct. 18, head out the KU Biological Field Station and Reserves for an open house with the Kansas Biological Survey featuring guided nature walks and activities. Earth Science Week, sponsored by the American Geological Institute, promotes understanding and appreciation of the value of earth science research and its applications and relevance to our daily lives. This years theme, Earth's Connected Systems, offers the chance to explore the ways that geoscience illuminates natural change.
