Registration for summer 2015 closes Friday May 29 at 5pm!

Follow the trail in a high-tech scavenger hunt, get muddy while learning about wetland creatures, dissect a squid, dig for fossils, launch a rocket, or solve a mystery at the museum in our one-day Summer Science Camps for ages 8-11. Participants explore nature and science through demonstrations, hands-on activities, and experiments in the museum and out in the field. Our intensive and content-rich camps are designed to be engaging and provide high quality science experiences. 

Scholarship assistance is available. Members of the Friends of the Museum at the household level and above, and their immediate family members, receive a 10 percent discount on summer camps.

Monday June 8, 2015 - Forensic Fun  3 spots left!

A crime has been committed at the KU Natural History Museum. Join our investigation and learn forensic science techniques such as footprint and fingerprint identification, hair and DNA analysis to help solve the mystery.

Wednesday June 10, 2015 - Space Odyssey  7 spots left!

(10am to 3pm)

Blast off for space adventure. Discover the principles behind stars, meteors and more. Build and test your own rocket. Don’t worry – it is rocket science.

Friday June 12, 2015 - Aquatic Biology  3 spots left!

(10am to 3pm)

Make a splash in this popular program that explores our local waters. Discover how the animals we will find tell us water is clean, and learn to use professional water quality meters. Be prepared to get muddy and wet!
