Comanche Restoration Project

Thanks to the taxidermy talents and negotiating skills of KU’s Lewis Lindsay Dyche, Comanche’s remains were preserved and have been on display in Lawrence for more than 100 years. In 2005, museum staff dismantled the old Comanche exhibit on the fifth floor of the museum and restored the mount. Visitors can visit the new exhibit on the fourth floor of the museum.
