The Panorama of the KU Natural History Museum had its start at the 1893 Columbian Exposition, a World's Fair. Lewis Lindsay Dyche prepared 121 animals for display at the fair's Kansas Pavillion, which was visited by as many as 20,000 people per day. A few years later, the KU Natural History Museum was constructed to feature the Panorama, and to this day the exhibit still wows visitors to the museum.
